Internet problems! Who hasn’t faced them? As we are using every day more and more the internet, finding some kind of problem is more frequent than before. As there are a lot of factors that can provoke an internet problem, it is impossible to list them all. So we have made a collection of the most common internet problems and possible solutions.
90% of internet problems are caused by lack of PC maintenance
Internet problems are not caused by the “internet”. The chance that you are having internet problems caused by
external parties, like for example your Internet Service Provider or specific webservers is very low.
Most of the time, what is causing internet problems is your PC. If your computer has a poor performance (computer is slow) or is showing you some kind of problems, like for example error messages etc, then you will have also problems with internet. A virus or a corrupted Windows registry can really cause a lot of trouble. So I would start with a PC clean-up. You can read in the article: computer clean-up, how to do this.
Specific website problems
We visit each year tons of websites and every day new websites are created. Every websites uses a different technology. And each technology can cause specific problems. But there are technologies which a lot of websites make use of, like for example: Flash Player.
Flash Player is a browser plugin, create by Adobe and with this plugin you can see and hear web video, you can play games or watch live football. There are a lot of big websites that depend on this technology, like for example YouTube. When YouTube is running slow a common factor that is causing this is Flash Player. When you are facing this problem I recommend you the article: YouTube slow.
Another huge and very popular website is Facebook. The main parts of Facebook are not depending on Flash Player, but all the games and interactive parts are depending on it. If you are facing internet problems with Facebook I recommend the article: Facebook Slow.
Problems caused by web browsers
Whe use a web browser to visit and visualize websites. It is therefore not strange that when you see an error message during surfing or are having a slow internet that the browser maybe the cause.
There are a lot of different types of web browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Opera are the most popular. Each of these browsers has its own typical errors.
For example, for Internet Explorer tons of plugins are created. And we love those plugins, or at least it seems to, because I have seen a lot of browser with tons of installed plugins. A plugin can really slow down your web browser, so maybe you should check it out. Browser hijackers also harm your browser performance and slow down your internet experience.
In the article Internet Explorer Slow you can find more tips. Nevertheless, do not forget that Mac OS X systems suffer from the same kind of internet browser problems and might benefit from a good mac cleaner, like the CleanMyMac or Mackeeper products.
Internet connection problems
At least but not last: internet connection problems. This kind of problems you see normally when you are installing for the first time a router or when you have reinstalled your computer. So normally we can say that internet connection problems are start-up problems. If you are using the same internet connection for some time and out of the sudden internet is slow, the chance that your internet connection is causing this is very low. But to be sure, a restart of your router could help.
To determine if your internet service provider is offering you the internet speed that you have contracted, you must perform an internet speed test. This test tells your actual speed which allows you to compare those speed results with the promised speed by the ISP.
